Just one individual can make such a difference in the world. And that's where tackling the most daunting tasks, such as removing the mounting waste from our nation's waters, all start -- with the passion of a single person. Chad Pregracke grew up on a polluted river and was only 17 when he decided to create a volunteer group to fight back. Over 30 years later, Living Lands and Waters has pulled out over 10.5 million pounds of garbage from our rivers, organizing over 1,000 cleanups in 21 states.
